About Callelo

Training doesn’t fail. Practice does.

I spent years on GTM teams. I led them, I built enablement programs for them, and I sat through more sales training sessions than I can count. The training was almost always good. The problem was what happened after it ended, which was usually nothing.

The frame that changed how I judge enablement came from Cathy Moore. She calls it Action Mapping. The question isn’t what people should know after a session. The question is what you want them to do differently on Monday. By that bar, most training, no matter how polished, doesn’t move the needle. Practice does.

Why nobody actually practices

The reason isn’t laziness. It’s that there’s nowhere safe to do it. You can’t practice a renewal pushback on a real customer. You can’t rehearse a performance review on your actual report. The stakes are too high, and the room for a clumsy first take is zero. So people skip rehearsal and live with the version of themselves that shows up cold.

We practice for everything else. Why not at work?

Here’s what bothers me. In every other part of life, we accept that you get better with reps. Athletes train. Musicians rehearse. Pilots log hours in simulators. Gladwell put a number on it in Outliers: roughly 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to become world-class at anything. The word that matters in that sentence is deliberate.

At work, the hours add up either way. You’ll spend thousands of them on customer calls, board reviews, and hard conversations over a career. But almost none of them are deliberate practice. They’re stumbles you didn’t get to rehearse. That’s the gap Callelo exists to close. We help you make those hours count.

So we built it. Callelo is the rehearsal room — voice role-play with AI personas that respond like real people, feedback grounded in the rubric for the conversation you ran, and a rating you can show your manager.

Built for sales reps

Discovery calls, demos, renewal pushbacks, deal reviews, objection handling. Pick the moment that’s in your forecast this quarter and rehearse it with a persona who pushes back the way your buyer will. Get the reps in before the call that matters.

Built for leaders and managers

Performance reviews. Tough feedback. Promotion conversations. Saying no to a top performer’s ask without losing them. These are the conversations that decide whether your team stays and grows — and they’re the conversations no one ever gets to practice. Callelo gives you somewhere to run them first.

Where we’re going

The initial vision is broader than sales and management. Personal conversations are hard too — the negotiation, the difficult talk with a partner or a parent, the moment you have to say something honest and don’t know how. The same rehearsal model works there. We’re building toward a platform where anyone can practice the conversation that matters before it happens for real.

About the name

Callelo is short for “call hello” — the friction point most of us flinch at, the opening of a hard conversation. The product is the place you go to get past it.

Get the reps in

Callelo is free to start. Pick a scenario, talk it through out loud, and see what comes back. The first rep is the hardest one.
